Tyler has always loved music from an early age. He began playing piano at the age of 6 and continued his education by studying music technology at Virginia Tech. His musical influences include Franz Liszt, Frédéric Chopin, Kanye West, Frank Ocean, Stevie Wonder and Beyoncé. Tyler's favorite thing about music is the creative freedom and his favorite thing about teaching music is the emotional attachment of the piece and understanding what the composer wanted to convey. One of his favorite teaching experiences was the process of teaching my band a composition I made then preforming it in front of multiple crowds. When taking lessons with Tyler you can expect a high energy environment with expectation of creativity in mind. Beginner - Intermediate
Students should expect a learning experience that incorporates Music theory and developing and ear for making the implicit explicit in music. We will also discuss piano performance and practicing techniques.
What to expect in my Keyboard and Piano Lessons
Beginner - Intermediate - Advanced
Students should expect a creative environment that includes producing music, mixing, mastering, and composing. Also an expectation to learn about hardware and software on different operating systems.
