Ricky began playing Drums at the age of 16. Over the years, he developed his skills further by Taking lessons and watching drum cams on YouTube. He gained performance experience in the Las Vegas area by playing at such venues as Eagles Aerie Hall and The Chxrch and with acts such as Wysh and 17 Below. Though Ricky can teach many different genres of music, his musical personal favorites are Pop Punk and Rock which had great influence on his style of playing. Ricky loves music because he was raised in a family filled with music and loves teaching music because nothing in this world beats sharing the power of music with others. What to expect in my Drum Lessons
Beginner - Intermediate
My students can expect to enhance their technical knowledge of drumming and to learn why they're doing the things they do while drumming. A big part of my lessons is understanding the purpose of certain things, such as why you hold the stick from the fulcrum point, so that the student isn't just mindlessly hitting things like all new drummers do at some point, even I had that stage in my drumming career. Another thing they should expect to learn is the technical prowess of drumming, such as rudiment exercises and exercises around the kit to help make them more fluid and drum more efficiently. To summarize: I'm determined to teach my students 1: The core fundamentals of drumming, 2: How to effectively and efficiently play the drums, 3: Warm-Ups to improve their proficiency and efficiency, 4: Some theory behind why we do what we do while drumming and 5: How to thoroughly enjoy and be passionate about drumming.
