About Me

Kris has always loved music from an early age. She began playing guitar at the age of nine and is self-taught, then she continued her education by taking guitar classes at Marshall College Campus Center and Spokane Falls Community College. Her musical influences include Joan Jett and the Black Hearts, Heart, Pat Benatar, Larry Carlton, Amy Grant, Phil Keagy, Stevie Rae Vaun and many more. Kris's favorite thing about music is it takes you to a different place. It brings out the creativeness you everyone, and her favorite thing about teaching music is to give that gift of music to others. One of her favorite teaching experiences was helping a High School student learn a song and he sang it for His Senior Talent show before graduation. He received a standing ovation. What to expect in my Song Writing Lessons

Beginner - Intermediate

Kris is a singer/songwriter and has been for over 40 years with her 4 music CDs out entitled: "A Righteous Life, Seasons of Change, Brokenness, and a project with her daughter Karissa entitled, "Heaven Is Here." Writing songs comes from the heart and also from skill. Kris will teach you both to create that powerful song you have been longing to write.

What to expect in my Vocal Lessons

Beginner - Intermediate

Kris has been a singer all of her life. Professional for more than 40 years. She will show you the proper breath support, training you to sing on pitch, training your ear to be able to sing the right note even with out a starting note. She will build confidence in your vocal tone and help you be strong and assured when you sing.

What to expect in my Drum Lessons

Beginner - Intermediate

Each student will learn how to listen to a metronome and keep time. A drummer is the clock of each band. She will show you various patterns, techniques, and abilities to enhance your drumming abilities. She listens to the student and plans the lessons accordingly to their desires and genres of music.

What to expect in my Bass Guitar Lessons

Beginner - Intermediate - Advanced

Playing the bass guitar is very rhythmic. Kris will teach you how to stay on rhythm and feel the music for placement of each note. She will open your mind to new ideas and ways to enlarge the sound of your musical piece you are working on.

I am easy going yet professional. Each student will leave each lesson with increased knowledge and skill to play their favorite instrument. You will have fun and be challenged all at the same time.
