Hi! My name is Paul and I am from Connecticut and am now living in Boston. I first started playing music at 8 years old when I started taking drum lessons, and then transferred to bass when I was 11. For me music quickly went from being a hobby to a passion, and is now my career. I have an undergraduate degree in music performance from the University of Miami, and a Masters from the Berklee Global Jazz Institute. In addition to teaching, I am a full time gigging musician, playing both live performances and studio sessions. My approach to teaching private students is to go over the fundamentals of playing the instrument, and then to work on music that the student is interested in. From there I can introduce different music to work on different concepts. The bass is particularly unique because it is in every style of music, and I have experience playing and teaching jazz, classical, rock, and pop. This diversity is one of the things I love about the bass and music in general, and I try and instill that in all of my students. I hope you choose me as your instructor, and I look forward to making music with you!
