Amanda began playing piano at the age of 6, violin at age 8, and flute at age 12. Over the years, she developed her skills further by teaching orchestras and wind ensembles, being a drum major for marching band, as well as entering and winning! many competitions. Though Amanda can teach many different genres of music, her musical personal favorites are the classics: Beethoven, Rachmaninoff, Chopin, which had great influence on her style of playing. Amanda loves music because it allows you to express yourself without speaking, and loves teaching music because I enjoy helping someone accomplish their goals whether it is learning a brand new instrument, furthering their skills on an instrument, or sharing a passion of music! What to expect in my Keyboard and Piano Lessons
Beginner - Intermediate - Advanced
Students can expect to learn the basics; how to read music, proper hand positioning and technique, music theory, the classics Bach, Beethoven, Mozart, Chopin etc. By having a strong foundation, students will be able to branch into any genre they like, as well as easily learn other instruments. I also can help seasoned pianists branch into accompanying if they so desire.
What to expect in my Orchestral Lessons
Beginner - Intermediate - Advanced
I have experience playing flute, piccolo, violin in an orchestral setting, as well as solo piano with orchestral accompanying. In addition, I have conducted orchestras, wind ensembles, and marching band. Students will learn the basics of orchestral conducting, music theory, and the different parts of an orchestra.
