Joseph has been playing music for 15 years, learning both guitar and piano. A part of his high school jazz ensemble, church band, and recreational bands on the side, Joseph spent much of his youth playing a wide variety of music. Throughout the rest of his music career, Joseph has been working as a solo artist, playing guitar in bands that range in style from blues, rock, funk and jazz. As a versatile teacher, Joseph will be able to teach you the secrets to learning guitar or piano with simple exercises and demonstrating positive practice habits while integrating a holistic approach to music theory using easily recognizable songs that you can play on your own. Beginner - Intermediate
For your piano lessons, we will be learning the basics of note reading and writing, as well as, simple theory such as building chords, scales and creating chord progressions. I will also be showing you secrets and tips for fun and positive practice habits and finger exercises. We will be learning easily recognizable songs for you to show your friends and family after the lesson.
What to expect in my Guitar Lessons
Beginner - Intermediate
You will be learning the basics of guitar, starting from chords and song structure, as well as, strumming and finger picking Depending on skill level, we will be going through easily recognizable songs so that you can play something for your friends and family after the lesson. Also, I will be using the songs you love to listen to so bring in suggestions and I will show you how to play using material taught in lessons.
