At the ripe young age of 12 years old, Shawn saved up and purchased his first guitar and a tiny little fender combo amp. Immediately enrolled in private guitar lessons and began his journey to become THE BEST GUITARIST IN THE WORLD.... Ok maybe not the best. HOWEVER At the still ripe young age of 29 he still finds as much love and joy in his craft as he did when he was tearing up blink 182 songs as a teenager. Shawn has a wide variety of genres and styles that he enjoys playing. He grew up playing pop punk, metal, hardcore, and the occasional Catchy John Mayer lick. He has performed at over 100 live shows in Deep Ellum, and the door in Plano when it still existed of course as well as a few out of state shows. Now a days Shawn is an independent music producer, song writer, and is educating himself in the art of audio mixing and mastering. Shawn offers a wide variety of styles and skill sets to apply to your lesson plan so that YOU CAN BECOME THE BEST GUITARIST IN THE WORLD! Whether you want to learn that one metal song you’ve been itching to learn, or want to start learning how to write music with your new Indy band, Shawn’s here to help you. He finds great joy in educating anybody with a passion to learn and holds himself accountable to your progress as a musician. Students can expect to learn structure, how to make proper chord progressions and transitions. Students will learn how to keep time. If I am teaching at home I will be able to record the students song and progress on my DAW.
What to expect in my Guitar Lessons
Beginner - Intermediate
Beginner level students can expect to learn the very basics at first depending on what they already know of course. Such as learning to tune, how to strum, and basic chords and chord progressions. Once we begin to move into intermediate education, students will be able to start learning scales and how to apply them to chord progressions, as well as techniques to improve lead and rhythm guitar playing. Depending on the students preferences for what style of guitar they are interested in learning of course.
