About Me

Hi, my name is Collin and I am a music teacher from From the Orlando area. I have been playing drums for almost 9 years and guitar for about 3. I studied music in high school and at the entry college level. I have performed in jazz band, marching band, concert ensemble and have a wide background in many genres. My musical influences include the likes of BB King, John Mayer, Wes Montgomery, and Dallas Green. I enjoy blues, rock, jazz and even metal!. My teaching style can best be described as laid back and letting the student discover what they want to learn. My teaching philosophy can best be summed up with this: you do not get anywhere in music without some struggle. In my lessons, you can expect to learn your favorite songs and enjoy it at the same time. I like to tell my students to always keep at it and not to be discouraged. My favorite thing about teaching is that it teaches me about music just as much as the students! My students love that I teach their favorite songs and relate it to them personally. I primarily teach guitar and drums but I can also teach bass guitar. My approach as a teacher is to allow you to learn your favorite songs, develop a love for the instrument and most importantly, have fun doing so! Thanks for taking a look at my profile. Hope to meet you soon!
