Hi! My name is Jonathan and I have been playing general percussion for about 12 years now. I am currently serving in the New Mexico Army National Gaurd's 44th Army Band as a drum set player and percussionist. I am also currently the head percussion instructor for the Gadsden High School Drum Line in Anthony, NM. I have studied Music Education for three years a New Mexico State University, and while I am taking break from school, I do plan on returning to NMSU to finish my degree in the near future. I also spent two years marching with the PRIDE of New Mexico NMSU Marching band on the snare line. I am willing to travel to most anywhere in El Paso, and I also am able to teach from the Gadsden High School Band room in Anthony, NM for those students who would like to come to me for lessons. Web cam is also a possibility. Thank you for your time and I look forward to working with you!

What to expect in my Drum Lessons
Beginner - Intermediate
Students should expect a relaxed but focused and detail oriented classroom setting. I am a very encouraging teacher that takes great pride in the progress of my students, and I expect the same drive from them. We work hard, but we also have a ton of fun and play hard!
Formal Education:
New Mexico State University: 3 years in the study of Music Education-Instrumental
Private Education:
Studied drum set with Joe Seltzer, a very respected and highly skilled drummer in the Las Cruces, NM area.
Performing Experience:
1. Three different bands in the 44th Army Band including the 44th Army Band "Breaking Brass" Brass Band, the 44th Army Band Jazz Orchestra, and the 44th Army Band Jazz Combo. 2. Multiple performing ensembles in the NMSU music department including the NMSU Symphonic Band, Percussion Ensemble, and marching band. 3. Local Punk Rock band and Tejano style band in Las Cruces, NM.
