About Me

Nat is an active performer and recording artist as well as a music educator and author of three books on Jazz technique. As CEO of Bluejay Records, Nat has made an international impact on the music world. Music Education: Berklee School of included piano, saxophone, guitar, improvisation, composition, arranging, and music theory.  Private music studies with John Payne, Gerry Bergonzi, Ghandi Burgess, Arnett Cobb, Budd Johnson, Buddy Tate, Eddie Lockjaw Davis. Teaching Experience: Owner of NatMusic in Manchester, MA from 1980 to present, where Mr.teaches Saxophone, Clarinet, Flute, Recorder, Piano, Keyboard, Guitar, Bass Guitar, Bass Violin, Trumpet, Trombone, Harmonica, Drums, Banjo, Mandolin, Voice, Performance, Harmony, Sight reading, Improvisation, Music Theory. Teaching students of all levels, from beginner to advanced professionals, all ages, from 4 years old to 84, and & all styles of music, including Jazz, Pop, Classical, Latin, Rock, Marching band, etc. Saxophone instruction at Waring school, Beverly, MA September 1996 to present. Music instructor at Glen Urquhart School, Beverly, MA 1988 to present. Teaching Saxophone, Clarinet, Flute. Music instructor at Scotti Music in Peabody, MA (now Music&Arts) from 1984 to 2008, where Mr.  taught Piano,Saxophone, Keyboard, Guitar, Bass Guitar, Bass Violin, Clarinet, Flute,Trumpet, Trombone, Recorder, Drums, Banjo, Harmonica, Mandolin, Sightreading, Improvisation, Music Theory.  Saxophone, flute and guitar instruction at Cutler and Winthrop schools, Hamilton MA 1978 to 1984 and again in 1996. Small group lessons and private instruction.

Nat Si is proficient in and teaches Guitar Lessons, Bass Guitar Lessons, Drum Lessons, Keyboard and Piano Lessons, Orchestral Lessons .



Formal Education:

Berklee School of Music
Studies included piano, saxophone, guitar, improvisation, composition, arranging, and music theory.

Private Education:

Private music studies with John Payne, Gerry Bergonzi, Ghandi Burgess, Arnett Cobb, Budd Johnson, Buddy Tate, Eddie Lockjaw Davis, Houston Person.

Performing Experience:

Nat is the latest exponent of the "Texas Tenor" saxophone school of King Curtis, Arnett Cobb, Gene Ammons, and Stanley Turrentine. Enticed by the enchanting island rhythms of Bermuda where he spent his boyhood, Nat took up the saxophone and later moved to Boston where he met and performed with the masters of the "Texas Tenor" sound: Arnett Cobb, Eddie Lockjaw Davis, Budd Johnson, Buddy Tate, and Eddie Cleanhead Vinson. Nat has been working steadily since the 1980's performing with many great artists including all the saxophonists listed above, as well as Houston Person, Grady Tate, Major Holley, Russell Malone, Eric Johnson, The Neville Brothers, Branford and Jason marsalis, and the Count basie Band. He has performed all over the world at major venues including the Village Vanguard and Birdland in New York and Tipitinas and the House of Blues in New Orleans. He has recorded fifteen CDs as a leader for Muse and Bluejay Records.
His CD Crescent City went top #1 on the National Jazz Radio Charts. As a saxophonist he continues to be an active player on the international music scene today, adding his robust sound and modern ideas to venues the world over. He has also performed on piano both as a solo pianist and in groups with Bobby Hebb, Bobby Lewis, the Paramounts, and many others. He also plays bass guitar with the Angela Warner Band and the Shirley Lewis Band.
