Hi, my name is Lucas and I am a vocalist from Kansas City. I have been a student of music for around 10 years. My more “classic” musical influences include Beethoven, Finzi, Poulenc, and Tosti. On a more modern base I love to listen to folk music, Bastille, and A Cappella. However I have an appreciation for all genres of music and am always looking for new music. My teaching style can best be described as an individualized approach. Every student learns differently and must be accommodated as such. My teaching philosophy can best be described by saying that my goal is to not only better the musician but better the person. In my lessons, you can expect to learn how to listen to, read, write, analyze, create, and of course perform music of all types. I like to tell my students that in order to succeed as a musician all you need is passion to create something beautiful. My favorite thing about teaching music is the joy that the student can have once they realize how powerful music is to the world and that they can be a part of that. My favorite performance was singing with my college choir on the Great Wall of China. My students love that I am fun-loving, energetic, and passionate about music. I primarily teach voice, but I can also teach piano, music theory, songwriting, ukulele, and trumpet. My approach as a teacher is to make sure that the student find success and a sense of accomplishment through their discovery of music. Thanks for taking a look at my profile. Hope to meet you soon!
