Robert began his music journey with piano lessons for a couple of months at the age of 12 but he was far more interested in sports and quit. He started playing guitar at the age of 16 and started singing about a year later. He started writing soon after that. Over the years, he developed his skills further by taking lessons from Howard Morgen the great jazz guitarist and writer. Robert recorded and performed with Big Joe Turner and also backed up Lightning Hopkins, Brownie McGhee, Otis Rush, Mama Thornton, and many other blues legends. The RobertBand has opened for numerous blues and rock and roll legends. Though Robert can teach many different genres of music, his favorite genres are blues and traditional jazz which had great influence on his playing style. Robert loves music and feels that it is in his blood and he loves teaching music because he is inspired by creative students who love to learn. Whether you are a beginner or a seasoned professional, Robert can help you expand and enhance your playing. Robert is excited to learn how he can help you reach your musical goals. What to expect in my Guitar Lessons

Beginner - Intermediate - Advanced

Bring a notebook and something to write with. First, we will figure out where you are at as a musician and what you want to learn. I might have some questions or ideas about what other direction might be even better for you. In the end it is really up to you to decide. We will come up with a short term goal and a long term goal for the number of lessons you have signed up for. Then we'll start working on whatever that turns out to be: music theory, scales, chords, songs, styles, etc. I will write important information in your notebook and provide you with hand out sheets so you can see how to play particular chords, scales, or chord progressions. There may also be one or more hand out sheets about music theory. Then we're off and running on reaching your musical goals.
