About Me
Richardis a performer and instructor of piano, trumpet, French horn, and tuba, born and raised in the greater Dallas Fort Worth area. He started learning music in middle school, but never took it seriously. He never saw himself as a musician growing up, his life was consumed by American Football. It was his senior year in high school when a car had struck him while crossing the street that changed the course of his life. After being cut from the team, he turned to music. Richard took band seriously where he strived to make up for lost time and perfect his craft. He made it to All Region Band and All State Solo and Ensemble. After high school Richard decided to pursue a career in music education. He went to Trinity Valley Community College to better his playing abilities then later transferred to Midwestern State University where he learned from some amazing musicians, including Timothy Justus, his studio professor. Richard grew as a musician along with his fraternity brothers of Kappa Kappa Psi. It was through their help and the support of others that he found a stronger love for music. Richard is a strong believer in the arts because he experienced it in his life. He may have started a little later than most, but it did not matter in the end. Richard enjoys his time playing music with friends in wedding gigs, jazz bands, and dixie groups. He even joined the Richardson Community Band in Texas. It does not matter when you start or how good you are, it is about the effort you put in that determines where you will end up. Music is for all.
