Hi, my name is Emily and I am a voice, violin and guitar teacher from Chicago. I have been a student of music for 20 years. My musical influences include folk and classical and I also enjoy klezmer and Appalachian fiddling, musical theatre and jazz. My teaching style can best be described as creative!
I love finding interesting ways to approach a piece of music, and I love finding interesting ways to help my students love what they're learning. My teaching philosophy can best be described by saying that I meet students where they are, and help them find the joy in their instrument. In my lessons, you can expect to learn things that make you want to keep learning. My favorite thing about teaching is seeing my students learn to love music in a deeper way. My students love that I love interacting with them. I primarily teach classical music, but I can also teach folk, jazz and musical theatre music. My approach as a teacher is to make it as fun as possible!
