Mary has recently moved to Texas from CA. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Music Ed. And a Masters in Education. Mary has taught guitar, ukulele, piano, and voice for over 25 years. She had her own music and dance studio in CA for at least 10 years before going back to teaching school in CA and then moving to TX where she currently teaches in Keller.
Mary is great with students of all ages and loves to see them excel.

What to expect in my Guitar Lessons
Beginner - Intermediate
I teach both beginning and intermediate guitar, some advanced. I teach the basics of tuning, chords accompanying songs while singing, basic strumming patterns for 4/4 and 3/4 rhythms. Then note reading, picking, and classical. Also transposing.
What to expect in my Keyboard and Piano Lessons
Beginner - Intermediate
I teach both beginning and intermediate piano lessons. I use the Alfred's series of music books so I can teach from ages 5 through Adult. Theory is included. Basics are taught to provide a firm foundation. I use a classical, European style of teaching. Children begin with simple songs and work their way up to Bach and Beethoven.
What to expect in my Vocal Lessons
Beginner - Intermediate
Vocal lessons are taught from 8 years on up. Proper breathing techniques and beginning vocal exercises are taught from 5 note patterns and syllables to the Concone exercises. Using the diaphragm is imperative. Proper techniques strengthen the voice and the range. Basic songs begin the repertoire to more advanced songs sung in other languages. With proper techniques all styles are sung.
