I've loved music from an early age. I began playing cello at the age of 8 and continued playing through primary school. My musical influences include John Denver, Mikael Åkerfeldt, and Jose Gonzalez. My favorite thing about music is expression and having fun and I love kindling that fire within students when I teach. Music is at its best when played with others as well, so one of my focuses would be to help a potential student play as member of a group. When taking lessons with me, you can expect a gentle, patient approach that can meet any pace. What to expect in my Bass Guitar Lessons
Beginner -
Bass Guitar is all about laying down the rhythm. The first few lessons with me would be dedicated the basics of music such as rhythm and knowing where to start putting your fingers! Bass Guitar lessons would then work on developing students abilities to play as a band through keeping in time and improvisational skills.
What to expect in my Guitar Lessons
Beginner -
I'll give you some basic building blocks that will allow you to start entering into the wider world of guitar. From there, depending on your genre interest we can delve into the specifics of Folk, Rock, etc. Eventually we could work towards improvisational skills so that we can get you jamming! Which is the most fun part of playing music. I'm a patient, flexible instructor willing to help you with your guitar goals, whether that be working toward playing your first open mic or if you just want to learn some of your favorite songs.
Formal Education:
10 years of orchestral cello and music theory.
Performing Experience:
I performed as part of an orchestra and solo with the cello. I performed guitar and bass for a few bands in my yourth.
Experience Teaching:
I taught guitar through a volunteer program for 4 years.
