About Me

Hi, my name is John. I've been playing classical piano since I was 9 yrs old. My favorite classical composers are Mozart, Chopin, Ravel, and Rachmaninov. I fell in love with composing after hearing the piano concertos of Mozart and have been writing music ever since.

I won a $1000 scholarship in 2011 for a composition I wrote and for playing Chopin Etude No. 25 . Since then, I've been playing the organ at church and developing an ear for jazz and gospel. In addition, I'm working on varying each of the elements of music to create a modern style of music that perfectly blends late American classical music like Aaron Copland, jazz, and house-to create an uplifting, upbeat, but deeply moving style of music.

I've had the experience of teaching piano to a few of my neighbors while growing up and also have been a tutor during college, so I know how to facilitate learning for those having difficulty.
