What to expect in my Record Engineer Produce
I use Logic Pro 9 X. I have a midi keyboard, a way to link up a guitar direct and a vocal mic that I link up direct. Let the fun begin!
What to expect in my Song Writing Lessons
I have volunteered with Ladies and Girls Rock Camp the past 5 years. In my time as a Music Therapist I worked with populations ranging from eating disorders to homelessness to dementia using songwriting techniques. You can expect me to hand over the reigns all the while giving tools to be successful. I've written and recorded 6 albums on my own including singles and professional music videos. All found on YouTube, my personal website, Spotify, and all other digital platforms.
What to expect in my Keyboard and Piano Lessons
Improvisation! This is where I see my students feel most successful. I am a great sight reader and if my student wants that I'm happy to do it. I've won 2 San Diego Music Awards and been nominated for several others. Songwriting is my gift and I love to facilitate that on all instruments. If I can help a student find their voice while playing, all the better! During my first lessons I always say, "I'll never make you feel bad for not practicing. Just know that if you only practice when I'm here you won't learn the instrument." I like to create an environment for expression and connection.
What to expect in my Drum Lessons
Same as above. With drums, I get the student to the place where they can hear a song, pick out the drums, and write down the notes. At the end of every sessions we jam with either guitar or piano as accompaniment. I focus on rudiments and timing with metronome.
What to expect in my Guitar Lessons
On the first day we come up with the student's personal goals and I tailor each lesson for maximum motivation. After four weeks of consistent practice we write a song and record using logic pro x. If my student wants to just learn songs, we will learn them AND the theory behind them so they have a better understanding and a way to generalize skills.
