About Me

Raycurt has always loved music from an early age. He began playing piano at the age of seven and continued his education by Duke Ellington school of Performing Arts High School. His musical influences include James Brown, Beethoven Ella Fitzgerald .Raycurt's favorite thing about music is the dance and his favorite thing about teaching music is the discovery of possibilities. One of his favorite teaching experiences was a seven year old girl high strung with super energy for the drums. I managed to focus that energy directly to the dance. When taking lessons with Raycurt you can expect high expectations in your time to discover. He looks forward to getting to know you as a student and learning about your specific goals, interests, and learning style. Book a lesson now and get connected right away!

What to expect in my Orchestral Lessons

Beginner - Intermediate - Advanced

DC Youth Chorale was a special organization I was lucky to have participated in. Young talented children devoted and enthusiastic to interact in harmony. Excellent musical director and accompanist of world-class performance standards. The vibrant Age of 11 was assigned a Viola from the High School Orchestra room. Out of curiosity the Beethoven Symphony No. 7, 2nd movement, which featured the VIOLAS was the inspiration that took over my being.

What to expect in my Vocal Lessons

Beginner - Intermediate - Advanced

As a singer first and a Viola in my hand instrument. Viola controls inner harmonies and rhythms for the string family. My perspective is unique as I approach as hear and teach the fundamentals. With this approach you will come to discover and enjoy the journey as you progress to make beautiful music.DC Youth Chorale was a special organization I was lucky to have participated in. What to expect in my Keyboard and Piano Lessons

Beginner - Intermediate - Advanced

Mr. Ray's music studio is the rudimentary way to understand  musical sounds as a language. You will discover how to communicate and express oneself within the structure regardless the instrument or voice. Vocalist must find the sound and complete dimensions of their voice as an instrument. How to develop the syntax of for expression through speech, concepts and stories. This concept of thought is a shared element for every instrument, yet, the physical technique is the challenge

Violin · In studio Mr. Ray J is a great teacher with patience. My 13yrs old boy is an international student who doesn’t speak English very well and only had chance to have 6 hours class during our trip to US. But my boy likes Mr. Ray’s class very much, we hope to come back to DC and learn from Ray again. Shan D wrote on Mon, 30 Nov -0001
