Sam L. has over 5 years of music experience in the Seattle area.
Sam L. is proficient in and teaches Guitar Lessons, Bass Guitar Lessons, Song Writing Lessons .Degree and Field of Study:
What to expect in my Guitar Lessons
Much like my Bass Guitar lessons, one can expect a good mix of technique-building exercises, basic music theory, and song performance. However, depending on one's playstyle and musical interests, guitar lessons and practice may require heavier focus on technique.
What to expect in my Song Writing Lessons
To me, songwriting is more of an art than a science and subject more to the individual's imagination and creative mind. However, there are a number of core concepts that I would gladly guide students through in order to better understand the many evocative qualities of music on a range of expressions from rudimentary understandings to more abstract emotional processes.
What to expect in my Bass Guitar Lessons
Students I teach can expect to have a good mix of technique-building exercises, basic music theory, and song performance. I believe that while technique and basic music theory are absolutely necessary, they can become somewhat repetitive and bland when not applied. To this end, I place some emphasis on performance of songs that the student enjoys and listens to. Though I normally do not grade performances, I would be happy to provide them if the individual student finds them helpful.
