About Me

Shannon has always loved music from an early age. She began singing professionally at the age of 14 and continued her education by studying independently with vocal instructors and attending Florida Atlantic University where she studied Vocal Performance. Her musical influences include Maria Callas, Anna Netrebko, Idina Menzel, and many others in the Theatrical World. Shannon's favorite thing about music is the ability it has to connect to anybody anywhere in the world because you can feel the passion and intention behind any music, it is translatable to any language, and her favorite thing about teaching music is the ability it gives her the chance to share and continue growing her passion for the gift she has been given, and to help others achieve a long and prosperous singing career due to proper voice technique with stylization.

What to expect in my Orchestral Lessons

Beginner -

We will begin by assess how much knowledge of the instrument and music reading you have, and depending on that we will move forward with implementing proper placement techniques and move up.

What to expect in my Vocal Lessons

Beginner - Intermediate

Depending on what style you want to accomplish we will start with where you are at with any prior training and assess where we need to go or adjust in order to get you to where you want to be vocally using healthy and proper vocally techniques that will allow you to transfer from style to style.

Formal Education:

Studied music and graduated with an AA at Indian River State College. Studied Voice Performance with a concentration in Opera at Florida Atlantic University.

Private Education:

Private vocal lessons throughout my career from Mark Jones, and Susan Dorchin, private instructor at Florida Atlantic University.

Performing Experience:

I have performed professionally as a lead cantor since the age of 14 at St. John of the Cross Catholic Church, and worked as their interim Music Director for nearly a year. I have performed in many music theatre shows including, Cats, the Musical as Jellylorum/Demeter, The Pajama Game as Brenda, Camelot as Lady Anne, Jesus Christ Superstar as Follower of Christ, and countless others. I have been in multiple professional and community choruses, including classical, jazz, and show choirs.

Experience Teaching:

I began teaching as an intern under several different music teachers at various K-8 schools and the Boys and Girls Club as a music director for a short period. I began instructing in private voice starting in 2016 following my return to the Treasure Coast from Boca Raton.
