Hi, my name is Azul and I am from El Paso, TX. I have been a student of music for 13 years. My musical influences were my percussion instructors, Colin McAllister at Del Valle High School 2 and Dr. Fred Bugbee at New Mexico State University 2. My teaching style can best be described as Patient, Dedicated, Friendly, and Encouraging. My teaching philosophy can best be described by saying that I believe that anyone who wants to learn music should be given the opportunity and I will never give up on a student that shows interest in wanting to learn music. In my lessons, you can expect to learn coordination, timing, rhythmic accuracy, percussion techniques, and knowledge of other instruments in the percussion family.

My favorite thing about teaching is seeing my students grow as young musicians and monitoring their progress through their musical journey. I love seeing them find success in music, as I found success for the first time at their age. My students love that I connect with them and understand their feelings of joy, as well as frustration, and am able to help them reach the next level in a comforting and encouraging way. I primarily teach percussion, but I can also teach beginning piano. My approach as a teacher is to help students learn to play music and better themselves.
