Appreciating music is incredibly important to me. I have been playing guitar for over 25 years and bass guitar for close to 20 years. My go-to instrument right now is bass guitar. I grew up learning rock and metal on guitar. Once I took to bass, I still played a great deal of rock, but once I started studying music at Phoenix College, I started to appreciate jazz as well. I wouldn't not want to teach jazz (leave that to the jazz experts!) but studying that made me appreciate more of the nuances of my instrument. My studies have made me a well rounded player that is confident in what is most important for playing in a band setting. Becoming a virtuoso is up to you, but I can teach you the tools that will make you sought after if you want to play in a band and be successful at your craft.
