About Me

Sean has always loved music from an early age. He began playing guitar at the age of 13 and continued his education by engaging in my own middle school band, choir and musical theater in high school. Later, I went to Valdosta State University and majored in Voice, singing baritone in the elite choir, jazz group, and sang opera. His musical influences include Carlos Santan in guitar, Thomas Hampson in singing as well as prominent artists like Michael W. Smith. I have also sung with the group Higher Ground whom Michael W. Smith was a part of early in his career. I also lean heavily towards rock and roll.

Sean 's favorite thing about music is its ability to affect and change people. and his favorite thing about teaching music is watching the love of music grow and the light in the student's eyes get brighter as they learn their favorite song. One of his favorite teaching experiences was customizing a country song for one of his students. What to expect in my Guitar Lessons

Beginner

When starting a lesson, we will start off with finger exercises. They will serve you no matter your skill level. Then we will pick a genre, and start learning songs together, as well as learning how to read either by number or music staff. Learning different scales from jazz and standard scales and how to improvise around them.

What to expect in my Drum Lessons

Beginner - Intermediate

We start off with rudiments and hand position. Speed and accuracy are key to learning the instrument, but we also will learn how to feel and express those feelings when playing with others. The drums are the driving force of any song, and when done correctly, and take the song to another level.

What to expect in my Vocal Lessons

Every lesson will start with vocal exercises. Scales and techniques will be discussed and utilized thoroughly. There will be the classical foundation, and we will also delve into foreign languages. Whether classical is where you want to go, musical theater, or rock and acoustic, each genre benefits greatly from learning that.

What to expect in my Song Writing Lessons

Beginner

Poetry, rhythm, chord progression, composition of different elements and word painting. Many different elements go into a piece to take it to that next level. Together, we will analyze modern day artists and those of earlier time periods and see how they affect one another. Then we will find what YOU are passionate about, and write from the heart.
