Hey, I'm Matt, originally from Minnesota but now living here in Phoenix. I picked up the bass at age 13 and guitar at age 14, practicing them fairly evenly with a lean more towards the bass. After highschool I fronted a metal band where I wrote most of the tunes, booked all the shows, and eventually recorded an album. Later on I would go on to play in tribute and cover bands. Just before leaving Minnesota I ended up in a hard rock band where again I would book the shows and once again recorded a full length album. I love to spread my knowledge about music, how to play it, how to write it, how to appreciate it all as well as my knowledge of starting and managing a band.

I love song writing because of the endless possibilities that go with it. Song writing lessons I'm more than happy to do side by side with students also learning an instrument or just by itself. This would be anything from just basic writing, trying to piece together a complete song, working on lyrics, and even ways to perform songs.
