Hi, my name is Emily and I am a singer and pianist from Akron, OH. I have been a music student for over ten years. My teaching style can best be described as patient and encouraging. Vocal music and piano take a lot of concentration and dedication. In my lessons, you can learn how to use your unique voice to better your singing, how to sing healthily, how to utilize and better your vocal range, and more. I tell my students that singing is ten percent talent, sixty percent hard work, and thirty percent fun. My favorite thing about teaching is watching my students' self-confidence grow. My students love that I am easygoing and welcome mistakes. My approach as a teacher is to provide a safe and comfortable space for growth and learning. Thanks for taking a look at my profile. What to expect in my Keyboard and Piano Lessons
Beginner -
Students should expect to learn the fundamentals of piano; including reading music, fingering patterns, scales, and chords. We will also work on songs the student is interested in playing.
What to expect in my Vocal Lessons
Beginner - Intermediate
Students can expect to learn how to utilize their voice with their personal range and desired style of singing. Students can also expect how to sing in a healthy manner, improve their vocal range and intonation, work on tonal memory and breath, and improve their pitch.
Formal Education:
Formal education in early childhood education, music performance, and anthropology.
Private Education:
Private education in vocal music.
Performing Experience:
Choral performances around the Akron area, Florida, and New York. Duets and solo performances in the Akron area and New York.
Experience Teaching:
Numerous years experience with teaching multiple skills including singing and acting.
