Whether you are a beginner that would like to learn a basic rock groove, to a highly advanced student who wants to work on their jazz independence and perfect the execution of their ghost notes, it would be my true pleasure and joy to help you with that. I am a graduate from the Drum Program at Musicians Institute in Hollywood, California, where I studied contemporary performance, learning jazz, blues, funk, hip-hop, rock, Latin, and much more. I have founded and played drums in successful bands like EDM DJ-Drummer duo, Shell Shock, which shared the stage with renowned bands like Alien Ant Farm and Crazy Town. I have played on professional gigs for event entertainment companies, like Wayne Foster. I have performed in night clubs like Parq Night Club in San Diego DJIng and playing drums, as well as playing with the club DJ! I have led worship services in church playing drums. I played in Parliament Funkadellic Tribute Group MC Funk. And you can hear my first band-Hibiscus on SoundCloud at I LOVE THE DRUMS! Such an amazing journey! I hope to have the pleasure of sharing this passion and love with you!

What to expect in my Drum Lessons
Beginner - Intermediate - Advanced
That I have the knowledge and experience to get you where you want to go!!! If you are a BEGINNER student. You can expect to be playing a rock drum beat within 1-2 lessons. If you are an iINTERMEDIATE drummer who wants to improve their abilities I will teach you funk, jazz independence exercises to get you "swingin" and deepen your pocket. l will teach you time keeping exercises, which is fundamental to playing in a good band. I will also feed you drum rudiments, hand to foot combos, which will build your chops and over time turn you into a beast. If you are an ADVANCED drummer, generally I will teach you applying rudiments around the drum kit, ghost note variation, advanced rudiments, advanced groove patterns and independences. I will give you jazz exercises to help strengthen and refine all your skills. If there is something in particular you want to work on, we can do that!

Drew is an incredible musician and teacher. His drum practice is rooted in body awareness and focus. Drew taught me a few patterns that he played along with me, he even wrote them out for me so i can practice at home. We went over note values and did some repetitions on both sides leading up to playing an essential rock groove at the end. I played the groove correctly a few times! It was really rewarding. Working with Drew was an overall great experience. Drew is very attentive, patient and thorough. He was very encouraging and gave gentle reminders to stay relaxed, take deep breaths, not beat myself up when I made small mistakes, and to just groove and feel the music rather than overthink it. His lesson flowed perfectly and I must say that my over all favorite part of the lesson was drumming along side Drew and watching his expertise and light shine!
