Hi there, my name is Erik and I am from Arlington, Virginia. have been playing guitar and bass guitar for over a decade now in the DC area and the Twin Cities, MN, performing with funk and soul groups, jazz combos, pit orchestras and more. I enjoy making and discussing music across genres and am happy to help with whatever project you would like to embark on. I'm a relaxed and easy going person, and as a teacher I let you take the lead; rather than following a "one size fits all" regimen, we will talk about your goals and figure out the best way to achieve them together. Additionally, I think an important part of being a musician is understanding your instrument and the history of the music that you play. We will discuss guitar maintenance to make sure you're comfortable with your guitar or bass, and we will talk about the songs you want to play in a broader context. By appreciating the roots of the music that you already love, you'll make playing music an even more enriching experience!
