Hi, my name is Chandler and I am a voice and woodwind teacher from Ashburn, Virginia. I have been a student of music for 14 years. My musical influences include Jeremy Jordan and I also enjoy popular music or jazz. My teaching style can best be described as determined. My teaching philosophy can best be described by saying that I am willing to go out of my way to help students. In my lessons, you can expect to learn why you are interested in, as well as the basics. I like to tell my students that music is another language; you must understand this if you hope to understand music. My favorite thing about teaching is the joy I see in students when they finally get something right. My favorite performance was Spring Awakening. My students love that I like to have fun while we learn. I primarily teach oboe and saxophone, but I can also teach voice. What to expect in my Vocal Lessons
Beginner - Intermediate
Students in my vocal lessons should expect to learn the basics and theory through performance of songs. While we will do formal training during warm up, I am of the school of thought that maintaining a students interest is the best way to get them into the nitty-gritty of music.
What to expect in my Orchestral Lessons
Beginner - Intermediate
I have been playing in orchestras since I started playing the oboe. Therefore, my students can expect my help with a lot of the orchestral excerpts that are mandatory for auditions, as well as developing an importance on sound.
