Updated July 23, 2024 Hi I’m David, Dave or Mr I am a classically trained brass musician. I was instructed on piano and taught myself guitar with the music theory and functional harmony while I was in my bachelors degree at Stephen F, Austin State University. 

David D. has over 18 years of music experience in the Crosby area.

What to expect in my Keyboard and Piano Lessons

Beginner - Intermediate

“Most philosophic lessons” Music theory/elements if not already known. Listening to pieces and making your own is the most readily available practice tool. We’ll learn that borrowing elements from artist is how music advances. What can you add or say to make a statement in your writing.


What to expect in my Song Writing Lessons

Beginner -

Same for guitar scales/chords etudes songs


What to expect in my Bass Guitar Lessons

Beginner - Intermediate - Advanced

How to hold, tune and care for the instrument. Scales/ chords 2/3 per lesson Etudes and songs 1/2 per literacy 2-3 of the students favorite songs per 1-2 months. They’ll have ample time to pick their pieces and I pick elements from that song and make an exercise for them in that style so they have fun practicing.


What to expect in my Orchestral Lessons

Beginner - Intermediate - Advanced

Same for guitar piano. How to hold/tune Play and read Scales and solos.


What to expect in my Guitar Lessons

Beginner - Intermediate

Scales how to identify Roman numerals of Nashville notation. General music theory but mostly scales and how to play them in the context of a song.

Most of the experience comes from playing in bands, both on brass instruments and guitar.  my most recent professional experience was playing trombone for the Houston Texans’s, “deep steel thunder”, brass and percussion ensemble for 3 years.

This most recent year entire public school pre-K through fifth grade general music developing lesson plans based for Kodai and Orff skills.
