Jake is an established trombonist, composer, and private lesson instructor in Anne Arundel and Queen Anne's County, Maryland. His playing traits have been described as energetic, powerful, and melodic. Jake obtained a bachelor's degree in Jazz Performance from Towson University and a Master's Degree from the University of North Texas. Following his return from Texas, Jake has been actively teaching private lessons and performing all over the Maryland and DC areas. He continues to build both of his private lesson studios in Crownsville and Stevensville Kent Island.

What to expect in my Orchestral Lessons
Beginner - Intermediate - Advanced
In the first lesson, Jake will meet with the student and assess their skill level. After that, he will be able to give assignments and goals for the student to work on over the week. From there, he will explain the important process of maintaining the instrument. For the remainder of the lesson, he will talk about good practice habits, and some playing exercises. At the end of each lesson, Jake will assign several things to practice for the next lesson. Over the course of several lessons, more advanced concepts will be introduced and explained. Jake also incorporates music theory and ear training into his lessons.
