3 Years
Hi, my name is Daniel and I am a musician from Cincinnati. I have been a student of music for 15 years. My musical influences include Beethoven, John Coltrane, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, and much more! My teaching style can best be described as student centered. My teaching philosophy can best be described by saying that I want my students to get the most of what they enjoy out of music. In my lessons, you can expect to learn proper technique to continue playing, music theory, composition, and anything else you are interested in. I like to tell my students that they aren't allowed to say they can't do something. I believe each student can get to the level they want to and want to help guide my students to reaching their desired potential. My favorite thing about teaching is the look of joy when a student succeeds. My favorite performance was performing with the University of Louisville Orchestra along with members of the Chicago Jazz Philharmonic. I primarily teach woodwinds, but I can also teach piano, bass, guitar, composition, and music theory. My approach as a teacher is to find the best way to keep the student engaged while still helping them learn new skills. Thanks for taking a look at my profile. Hope to meet you soon!
Daniel N. has over 3 years of music experience in the Villa Hills area.
Daniel N. is proficient in and teaches Guitar Lessons, Bass Guitar Lessons, Keyboard and Piano Lessons, Song Writing Lessons .Degree and Field of Study:
What to expect in my Song Writing Lessons
These are the most student centered lessons so the main thing to expect out of lessons is to get what you would put it. I will be able to provide exercises to learn to write songs. There will be song analysis for more advanced students so they can use what others have done before them to influence their growth.
What to expect in my Keyboard and Piano Lessons
There will be focus on basic piano technique and basic music theory. Due to my background I can give beginning classical piano lessons but can give up to intermediate jazz, pop, and rock piano lessons.
What to expect in my Guitar Lessons
They will be learning the basics of guitar technique and performing. They will learn basic chords and notes on the guitar. The curriculum will have its mainstays of basic technique and theory but will incorporate whatever the student desires to learn from there.
What to expect in my Bass Guitar Lessons
The curriculum will have mainstays in theory and technique as to better the student as a musician in general while gaining the abilities to learn their desired material. The beginner lessons would focus more on learning simpler songs while the intermediate lessons will take more advanced measures in technique while expanding repertoire knowledge.
Formal Education:
I hold a bachelors of music education from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music and a Master's Degree in Jazz Performance from the University of Louisville.
Private Education:
I have taken private lessons for most of my life with instruments ranging from saxophone to bass and flute. I have also taken composition and song writing lessons for the last 4 years, studying with many prolific jazz composers such as Steve Allee and Gabe Evens.
Performing Experience:
I've performed with numerous bands ranging from an orchestra to a pop-cover wedding band, and anything in between!
Experience Teaching:
I have taught at many different levels. My background in music education allowed me the opportunity to teach beginning guitar and band for grades 6-12 and have taught music theory at the collegiate level.
