Hi, my name is Josue and I am a guitar player/musician from El Paso, TX. I have been a student of music for over 11 years and I have been playing music and guitar ever since I was 10 years old. My musical influences include many old school 70s rock artists such as Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, The Beatles, and Supertramp, as well as current indie artists such as Mac Demarco, the Drums, Mr. Oizo, and especially LCD Soundsystem. I also love jazz, rap, techno, house music, and I listen to a lot of movie soundtracks in my spare time. My teaching style can best be described as patient but excited and passionate to teach and share the art of music. My teaching philosophy can best be described by saying that I love to hear what makes students want to play music and help them hone their skills so that they can continue to grow in their passion for it. In my lessons, you can expect to learn music theory, aural skills, how to analyze your favorite songs, and how to play guitar, sing, or play piano. I like to tell my students to bring the songs they love to listen to so we can learn to play them. Listening is one of the most important parts of playing music. My favorite thing about teaching is watching students grow and helping them overcome their obstacles. My favorite performance was singing and performing for my teachers and other students in high school in classrooms or hallways. My students love that I work with them patiently and encourage them to keep trying and to not give up. I primarily teach guitar, but I can also teach voice, piano, songwriting, and music production. My approach as a teacher is to find out what the students needs are in order to get them to more easily enjoy their playing and feel accomplished and confident in their skills. Thanks for taking a look at my profile. Hope to meet you soon!

What to expect in my Guitar Lessons
I have studied and played guitar since I was 10 years old and I studied it all the way up to college where I received my Bachelor's of Arts in Music with a concentration in guitar. In teaching my students, I like to teach the fundamentals of guitar such as learning chords, notes and note names on each string, learning how to play chord progressions and how they relate to music theory, and most of all learning individual songs that the student wants to learn.
What to expect in my Keyboard and Piano Lessons
I studied Keyboard and Piano at the university level and I primarily train my students to learn finger patterns for both hands, playing scales, sight-reading, learning chord progressions and how they relate to music theory, and playing simple songs that can enhance their skill. If there is a pop song that a student wants to learn as well, I can teach that.
What to expect in my Vocal Lessons
I know how to use Ableton Live and Pro Tools and have studied both of these programs while I was at university. I like to teach how to mix properly, learning midi and how to input it, mastering tracks. songwriting, looping, automating tracks and devices, and sampling.
What to expect in my Song Writing Lessons
I have written many songs, and studied song writing in college. I can teach song writing techniques such as matching lyrics to music, how to get out of creative ruts, what chords can invoke different feelings, how to write melodies, and work-shopping songs with students.
What to expect in my Record Engineer Produce
I have been singing ever since I was a kid, and even received proper voice training while in college. I like to teach my students how to properly and healthily produce sound with their voice, proper voice posture, vocal anatomy, controlling the volume and timbre of their voice, how to make what they are singing more musical in the way that they want it to be, and how to maximize the resonant space in their mouth and head so that a beautiful sound can escape and reverberate. If a student is not confident in their singing and can play another instrument I can also teach them how to incorporate the same feeling of playing their instrument into their singing. I like to help students grow more confident in their singing voice.
