Marie began her musical experiences at the early age of 3 years old, by teaching herself to play the piano with no assistance. A few years later, her impressive ear training led into a successful young musician path by being given top tier music instruction from a pianist from the Moscow Conservatory, audio engineer teachers from Peabody Conservatory, organ teachers from Eastman School of Music and the Royal Academy of Music, as well as voice teachers from Duke University, Peabody Conservatory, and Curtis Institute of Music. With the immense amount of training Marie has experienced, she has had immense talent opportunities such as singing with film composer, John Williams, and the Boston Symphony Orchestra for Film Night, in 2014, singing as a back up singer for Susan Boyle as part of her 2015 American tour, and performing as keyboards and vocals with local Baltimore band, Legends of Et Cetera. Marie currently performs with the local bands "Get Steady," and has recorded music with Dry Ice Studios in Phoenix, MD. Throughout the years, Marie has performed gigs as a classical pianist, jazz pianist, rock pianist, jazz vocalist, musical theatre vocalist, opera singer, classical art song singer, pop singer, and rock band cover singer. Mastering the instrument that is the voice, Marie says, is the understanding that the voice is a small muscle, but like any muscle in the body, can be trained to do the most mind-blowing things. Training might seem like a limited scope at first, but really, the sky is your limit with musical training from me. I have come to know such a wide variety of genres and musical styles through my two decades of experience as a performer and seven years as a teacher, and nothing would give me greater joy than to share the most blessed human gift which is music, with as many students across the United States as I can. Whether you are a beginner or a seasoned professional, Marie can help you expand and enhance your playing, ear training skills, the ability to write, read, and record music in whatever desired genre you have. Marie is excited to learn how she can help you reach your musical goals. Signup now to schedule a meeting!

What to expect in my Record Engineer Produce
Piano is my earliest instrument, and I have the most experience teaching the piano. Piano is the best instrument to give students unbelievable ear training, and immensely useful coordination skills. I can teach any player from the beginner level player who only wants to learn how to play their favorite pop songs by ear, to the advanced player who needs some help releasing hand tension when playing through their Chopin etudes. The one genre I cannot teach at the advanced level is jazz, for I am just approaching the level of being an advanced jazz pianist, and it wouldn't make me feel good to teach musicians who are at my level, so I always make sure there will never be a student who might know more than what I can provide them at a certain subject. It is very important to me that all students are actively learning a lot, and especially with an instrument like the piano, the demands can be heavy such as an advanced level classical pianist who needs to practice 5 or more hours a day. In short, with your specified desires, I can give you an abundance of training and sources to get you on your way to where you want to go as a musician.
What to expect in my Song Writing Lessons
I teach beginners interested in the recording and production industry how to use platforms such as Logic Pro X to the best of their abilities. With new students, we would start on something simple like garage band, which is a perfect introduction to Logic Pro X, the most dynamic and accessible DAW, and when students would want to move onto the next level, we would discuss how they might go about obtaining software such as Ableton, Logic, or Fruity Loops. If the musician already has obtained music production software such as any of these listed above, I will help the student understand 1. secrets of the DAWs 2. how to manipulate sound in various ways without purchasing extra plug-ins and 3. how to record and edit live instruments such as the voice, guitar, drums, etc. in a very professionally produced format.
What to expect in my Vocal Lessons
Having worked with bands and local artists as well as written classical music for choir singers to sing with the usage of sheet music, I have a lot to offer for the interested creator of music, whether someone wants to casually write songs for their friends/family in the pop style, or be the next big orchestral composer. Whether you just want to understand the functionality of verse/chorus/verse/chorus/bridge/chorus music, or want someone to edit your heavily written out chamber orchestra score, I am here to help you reach your musician goals.
What to expect in my Keyboard and Piano Lessons
What I have to offer varies upon the interest of the singer, and we can come to different conclusions based upon the interests that the singer presently has. If the singer is brand new to singing, but likes certain genres, e.g. pop, country, R&B, alternative, etc. I would get the singer started by working on a combination of ear training and vocal exercises from the musical theatre/belting background if you want to sing everything, you have to have the technique, and I can give you all the technical instruction in the world. I would assign the singer little projects by giving song and artist suggestions, listening exercises, etc. all so the singer can expand their knowledge, understanding, and love of music as far as they can. If the singer have a clear idea in mind of what they want, e.g. the desires to be a classical singer who will one day perform on stages such as Carnegie Hall: I am more than happy to provide singers with a strict set of technical instruction designed to get singers ready for the big stage, wherever they decide to go. So, with the technical instruction I would also make sure that the singer has a song/aria package ready to go at all times, help and assist with any major or minor details of the singer's career such as assisting recording vocal music for competitions, editing resumes, offering a huge platform of web resources for the specified singer, etc. These are just two examples, but this just goes to show the wide variety of outcomes and ways in which I can help singers hone in on their skill and unfold their true potential.
