15 Years
Hi, my name is Stacey and I am a local solo recording artist/ voice teacher originally from Fayetteville,NC! I have been a student of music for 16+ years. My musical influences include Ella Fitzgerald, Shirley Horne, Patty Label, Whitney Houston, Michael Jackson and Beyoncé and I also enjoy Broadway theatre. My teaching style can best be described as an experience of self discovery, acceptance, self esteem, honest expression, skill development, and a since of accomplishment by hosting a recital to share this experience with friends and loved ones. My teaching philosophy can best be described by saying that “I Accepting the responsibility and privilege in guiding a student through the process of expressing their true artistic selves, with excellence!”Teaching is a partnership, a response to the call of fulfilling ones dreams. In my lessons, you can expect to receive a custom vocal plan that will include goal setting support, developing an action plan, and practical tips and guides for vocal health and maintenance during a pandemic and season changes. I like to tell my students come prepared to sing the first day with the sheet music/lyric sheet/and or background music. Our first lesson will be an time of range assessment, goal setting, and vision sharing. We will project milestones, and experiment with the equations needed to meet all goals on time. My favorite thing about teaching is joining the student in the process of self acceptance. My favorite performance was singing with the jazz vocal ensemble in the British Virgin Islands with my undergraduate jazz department. My students love that I create a safe space for them to be comfortable to learn and grow. I primarily teach vocal conditioning and preparation for performances, but I can also teach song writing, studio recording etiquette, recording a song in Logic Pro/garage band, releasing your own music with distro kid, I also do choir/large ensembles workshops and small ensemble leadership building. My approach as a teacher is to Support, Inspire, and motivate my students to embrace their true inner voice and feel safe enough to share that sound with the word! Thanks for taking a look at my profile. Hope to meet you soon! Submit
