Maria has always loved music from an early age. She began singing at the age of five and continued her education by pursuing a degree in Music Education at the University of North Carolina Greensboro. Her musical influences include Audra McDonald, Emmy Rossum, and Kristen Chenoweth. Maria's favorite thing about music is the ability to express emotions and be who you want to be in that moment and her favorite thing about teaching music is giving her students the opportunity to be confident in their abilities and help them achieve their music goals. One of her favorite teaching experiences was when she was elected to be a teacher's assistant and group leader in her high school choir for outstanding cooperation and guidance of fellow students.
