Hi, my name is Fred and I am a pianist/vocalist from Clover, SC. I have been a student of music for 18 years. My musical influences include classical and I also enjoy motown/oldies. My teaching style can best be described as fun/loose/flexible. My teaching philosophy can best be described by saying that I can only teach someone who is enjoying the process. In my lessons, you can expect to learn the basics of sight reading, rhythm, and improvisation. I like to tell my students that practicing provides compound interest, the more you do it, the better you get, and the faster you will play like you want. My favorite thing about teaching is that I get to continue my own education in music. My favorite performance was the 4 years of high school that my choir took home the first place state competition trophy thanks to the direction of Jay Forrest from Clover High School. My students love that I make the learning process fun. I primarily teach the basics, but I can also teach improvisation. My approach as a teacher is to keep the learning process fun so that my students will stay accountable and practice in their free time to get better because musicians are made when nobody is watching.
