I'm Blake, and I'm a recording artist and teacher in the St. Louis area. I've played bass and guitar for over ten years and have been teaching professionally since graduating college. I've written, recorded, and produced my own music on Spotify, Bandcamp, and even made tapes! Playing and performing is just as much a passion as teaching and learning, and so I'm looking forward to teaching anybody how to play bass and guitar, if they're as excited about the instrument as I am!

Beginner
My bass instruction will lay the foundation for a broad understanding of all things bass guitar. My bass technique is deeply influenced by a wide range of professional bassists: Bruce Palmer The Buffalo Springfield, Joe Lally Fugazi, Al Cisneros Sleep/Om, and countless others. I focus on the rock, metal, punk, and country genres, and can comfortably teach within any musical tradition. Right-and left-hand technique are key, as well as music literacy and theory, and even understanding gear and how it functions.
What to expect in my Bass Guitar Lessons
Beginner - Intermediate
My guitar instruction will lay the foundation for a broad understanding of all things guitar. MY guitar technique is deeply influenced by a wide range of professional guitarists: Neil Young, Townes Van Zandt, Jason Molina Songs: Ohia/Magnolia Electric Co., and countless others. I focus on the rock, metal, punk, and country genres, and can comfortably teach within any musical tradition. Right-and left-hand technique are key, as well as music literacy and theory, and even understanding gear and how it functions.
