27 Years
Hi, my name is Jim. As a music teacher with over 25 years of experience, I will help you be a real guitar hero. In addition to the basics like playing chords and note reading, I can show you how to play some of your favorite songs in any style. Maybe you want to learn classical guitar, contemporary Christian, or how to shred. I'm excited to take you on that journey. I also have been a professional performer for about 30 years. My services have included classical guitar at weddings and other special events, worship music at various churches, and of course playing in rock bands. I am currently using my talents in the praise band at First Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, and I play in the Las Vegas based rock band Atomic City. I work with students of all ages and ability levels. So whether you're interested in acoustic, classical, or electric guitar, let's get started. Sign up now to schedule a meeting!

What to expect in my Guitar Lessons
I usually start the lesson with a review of concepts from the previous lesson. I will then spend a little time on new fundamentals such as note reading, chord progressions, scales, or technical skills. I like to finish off with a new song or some familiar songs.
What to expect in my Bass Guitar Lessons
I will start students off with a review of material learned in the previous lesson. I will then go to a method book if they have one to review note reading. I may show the student how to get familiar with the fret board by teaching arpeggios or roots to 12 bar blues and other chord patterns. I also spend a lot of time on easy songs and simplified versions of songs.
