Hello, my name is Sam and I am a lifelong drummer and music lover. I started playing drum set when I was ten years old. Since the age of 14, when my band had their first gig, I have been performing music for nearly 15 years and teaching music for approximately 10 years. As a performer, I have played drum set for various bands of different genres at venues all along the east coast. I was a member of the drumline at the University of Delaware and competed and won national championships with the Reading Buccaneers DCA Drum Corps as a snare drummer. As a teacher, I have directed and assisted with numerous high school music programs from Marching Band to Jazz Band. Multiple groups I have worked with have won high percussion awards (drum trophy) at their respective championships and many of my former students have went on to compete in world class programs such as DCI drum corps. As a former high school English teacher, I am well-versed in educational strategies that help my students build a strong foundation to reach their goals. Based on my experience, I am open to teaching all forms of drumming to all ages and skill levels in any genre. I truly have a heartfelt dedication to music and enjoy inspiring students to achieve their true potential as musicians!
