Award Name:
What to expect in my Guitar Lessons
Understanding the fundamentals of: Finger positions, basic chord shapes, rhythmic patterns of strumming, guitar equipment maintenance, and an introduction to useful scales for soloing like the major, minor, pentatonic, and blues scales.
What to expect in my Song Writing Lessons
To gain an understanding of song structure and form relative to style and the genre of the students choice, working on understanding what specific stylistic choices within a song endear it to that certain genre or style. Students should also expect to learn the fundamentals of music theory by breaking down songs the bring into the lesson, understanding the chord progression, rhythms, melody and harmony.
What to expect in my Vocal Lessons
When bringing on a new student, first step is to get to know them, where they are on their vocal journey, and what they expect/want to improve on in their singing technique in the short and long term. We would focus on making sure the student develops a full physiological understanding of their instrument, not just the "how" but the "why" as well. There would be, not only time spent isolating specific areas of the voice with exercises, but also incorporating those exercises and habits into songs from genres and styles of their choice.
