I spent one year at the University of Georgia studying Music Education, and two years following that at Austin Community College studying Audio Engineering.

Since fist picking up a guitar at age 11, I haven't stopped learning for a moment. Thanks to my earliest teachers inspiring what quickly developed into a fierce passion for music, my personal education truly never stops. One of my favorite ways to learn is WITH students! I love when a student's interests push me to study and practice a facet of music I haven't dabbled in yet, so don't be afraid to let me know what you're most into, and I'll get into it right along with you!

Thanks to my upbringing in Austin, TX, I performed frequently, and in more different capacities than I can name! From one-off backup dancing, to choral vocals in a rock concert, to 7 years of bass/backing vocals in a heavy metal band, to filling in as guitar/bass/drums/keys/vocals for my students' bands, I've performed to empty rooms and packed venues, in music festivals such as SXSW, and even once on a parade float!

I've devoted the last 8 years to teaching private music lessons, 4 of which were spent as an instructor at Band Aid School of Music, the #1 Rock Band Program in the country. There, working alongside some of the most skilled musicians I know, I learned to guide students by adapting to their needs and inspiring a passion for their instrument! Since Band Aid, I’ve continued to grow as a musician and teacher through continuing music education and independent research into education and development.
