Hi! Welcome to my page. My name is Paris "Reece", and I am more than happy to tell you about my teaching and music experience! I started playing the drums when I was 4 years old, and have been on an insatiable quest for musical knowledge ever since. In addition to playing in various bands and cover bands in my native New Jersey, I have academic education as well. During my tenure at Rutgers UniversityNew Brunswick, New Jersey, I performed with the Rutgers Scarlet Knights Marching/Pep Band, which opened my mind and exposed me to the heuristic qualities of reading music, learning different styles/genres, and studying technique which I continue to apply and teach to this day. I continued to study with various top drummers in the New Jersey area, learning about various styles, systems, and techniques, including 3+ years of Jazz drum studies to my own self-taught style of playing. Due to the expenses of college, I started teaching drums to help pay my way in college at various music schools in New Jersey. This quickly turned into a full-time occupation as I realized how much I loved teaching people how to play an instrument. In addition to my piano and guitar studies while matriculating, I continued to take lessons at various music schools I taught at and started receiving students on various instruments, ages, and levels. This serendipitous situation led to what is now my musical livelihood for the past decade in New Jersey and California. In addition to various music schools, I have also had brief experiences with teaching in classrooms across the USA. I have worked with the marching band of Shore Regional High School in Long Branch, NJ as a percussion teacher, taught after school percussion camps at Wall Intermediate School in Wall, NJ, and most recently conducted guitar, ukulele, and drum courses at St. Patrick’s Elementary School in Thousand Oaks, CA. With the advent of online lessons, I can now teach anyone at any time, anywhere! I currently reside in Southern California, where I continue to perform. I most recently recorded drums on an EP in Nashville, Tennessee with Dave EllefsonMegadeth on Bass Guitar, produced by Nashville producer Billy Smiley with the California band Fall of Silencerelease TBA. I also occasionally perform live throughout the country and have played drums on various national tours throughout the years, and travel once a year to play with New Jersey cover band Shorty Long and the Jersey Horns. While teaching and working with students in the daytime, I currently live in Las Vegas, NV, and have shared the stage with many musicians of note, which can all be seen on the media page. One thing my time as a music educator has taught me is that while we all love music, every student has a different situation and different interests. This is why I am happy to discuss a lesson plan tailored to your needs.
