Hi, my name is Korie and I am a Behavior Therapist from Newport News VA, I now live in Henrico. I have been a student of music for 13 years. My musical influences include to many to be named but I can say that I have performed just about any genre of music you ca think of. My teaching style can best be described as fun, very informative, and I won't stop my students from trying new things. My teaching philosophy can best be described by saying that I want to hear what your musical heart is saying. In my lessons, you can expect to learn fundamentals, technique, theory, and experience different artists. I like to tell my students to practice hard so they can perform even harder. My favorite thing about teaching is the "Ah-Ha" moment when everything starts to click. My favorite performance was with the Intercollegiate Musician Association performance in 2016. We were all Historically Black College and University Students who meet and perform. My students love that I push them to do their best. I primarily teach Saxophone, but I can also teach Beginner Piano, Clarinet, and flute. My approach as a teacher is to give you 100% of my knowledge and energy, as I would want from my students.
