About Me

Joshua is a central Florida based clarinet musician and performer. He is a fifth-year Senior attending Florida Gulf Coast University majoring in Music Education. Joshua is the principal chair in the Bower School of Music's Symphony Orchestra, and co-principal chair in the Wind Orchestra as well as the Jazz Band. He has been involved in many diverse organizations within the school of music, such as the National Association for Music Educators (holding the position of Treasurer), a representative on the School of Music's Student Advisor Board, and the current Librarian for the Wind Orchestra three years running. Even outside organization have noticed his talent as a musician. Joshua performed in 2021 with the Drum & Bugle Corps, The Crossmen as a Mellophonist.

Performing Experience:

Beginning clarinet at age twelve, Joshua has continued to grow not only with his musicianship, but also his educational prowess. Joshua is well known around Manatee, Sarasota, Lee, and Collier County as a “fine musician, and an even finer educator”. From middle school through high school, Joshua was principal chair for the top ensembles held at his schools. Starting with both ensembles in 2015, he held principal chair from 2 with outside organizations such as the Sarasota Concert Band and the Sarasota Youth Philharmonic Orchestra. Joshua has placed and won several scholarships such as, The 1st Place Young Artist Scholarship Winner, the 2nd Place Emerging Artist Scholarship Winner, and nominee for the Golden Herald Award in the category of Music. Joshua was also recognized with his Band Directors by the Manatee County School Board for winning the Florida Marching Band Championship twice in a row in 2017 & 2018. As a soloist, he has performed at several venues, some including the Sarasota Opera House, Phillippi Estate Park, and popular Sarasota Bistros. Even through his colligate career at FGCU, Joshua has performed with world-wide notable groups such as the Boston Brass and The Crossmen Drum & Bugle Corps.
