Award Name:
What to expect in my Drum Lessons
Students should expect technique training off the bat, along with a solid foundation for ear training on drum set/snare drum and melody, an overlooked fundamental for having true ability to vamp just about anything and be able to participate in any group. Ear is key, along with fundamentals such as key rudiments and fluidity and familiarity with drum set and snare drum/practice pads. Goals will also depend on student’s goals/current musical endeavors/ambitions, in which lessons will be tailored to accordingly! The first lesson will most likely consist of gauging the student’s current level and ability, and moving forward focusing on improvement areas and musical training for the proper path for that student to achieve their goals!
Formal Education:
Bachelor’s degree in sociology, minor in psychology and social work
Performing Experience:
A Day To Remember tribute “Dead & Buried” drummer from 2, Avenged Sevenfold tribute “A Little Piece of Seven” vocalist during 2021, eight years of educational percussion through middle and high school, and one year of college performing jazz and concert band concerts and festivals. Played one musical for three nights as a fill-in on the drum set.
Experience Teaching:
I have been subbing for my drum teacher Roye Robley at Music of Oz for about a year now, and have given a handful of lessons on my own, as well.
