Hello, my name is Brandin. I have been playing music since I started when I was 10 years old. Music has been a great passion my entire life. I started out playing percussion instruments with the ultimate goal of getting behind the kit. I always welcomed different challenges which still continue to make me better every day. I stayed in the band from 5th grade until graduation and it was one of the best experiences of my life. I learned all different types of percussion instruments across the spectrum and it has made me a better musician. During school, I took part in musicals, Caribbean band, Jazz band, Solo and Ensembles, Concert band, Church orchestra, Community band, Kent State University Concert band for two semesters, and received my Associate Art's Degree. I have taught a few students at the elementary level, and many students at the junior high/high school level. I have worked with a couple of beginner adults as well. My approach involves having the utmost patience with every student no matter the age with the goal of feeling a sense of accomplishment by the end of the lesson. I am not afraid to switch up teaching methods or lesson plans because every student learns at a different pace. What's important is establishing a goal, and doing what I can to guide my students towards achieving said goal. I've experienced many different teachers over time, and some were far more strict than others. I am not one of those strict teachers, so rest easy. However, I do have expectations that will be met. I am hoping each experience will leave all of us feeling optimistic about the future. Instruments I can teach include: snare, marching percussion Quads, snares, bass drums, pit ensemble, mallet percussion, and especially drum kit. If there are any other percussion questions or instruments you are interested in, let me know, because I will learn so I can help others learn.

What to expect in my Drum Lessons
My students can expect to have an educational, but fun experience each lesson. I do expect each student to have a willingness to learn. The beginning of each lesson will be a review on what we covered during the prior lesson, so practice is an absolute must! I like to use any type of learning tools available to me such as videos Tommy Igoe is a favorite, or even books. Books that are used at school are definitely encouraged!
