Curtis began playing drums at the age of 8. Over the years, he developed his skills further by watching his older brother and dad play and by continuously practicing. He gained performance experience by playing at such venues as churches and concerts, theaters as well. Though Curtis can teach many genres of music, his musical personal favorites are jazz, contemporary, soft rock, lofi/hip hop which had a great influence on his style of playing. Curtis loves music because it really is an experience and music has a way of healing that can’t be explained, and loves teaching music because he enjoys sharing what he loves with others. Whether you are a beginner or a seasoned professional, Curtis can help you expand and enhance your playing. Curtis is excited to learn how he can help you reach your musical goals. What to expect in my Drum Lessons
Beginner - Intermediate
You can expect for me to meet you at your level whether that be novice or experienced in any way. I will take you thru the basics of learning the drum set. We will work with hand-eye and foot coordination, progression, basic beat foundations as well as adding some of your own flare and how to appropriately do that in a performance. We will also be discussing what type of genre you feel most comfortable performing and learning so as to give you the best training possible!
