As a teacher, my aim is to help students unlock the meaning and message of any piece of music. For me, teaching and learning are both about exploration, inquiry and experimentation. I approach each lesson fully committed to sparking a students imagination and musical understanding through these principles. The joy in my teaching is seeing students ideas develop and being a guide to them each step of the way! Together we discover a wide range of musical style's. Students are also equipped with the practical skills of sight reading sheet music, transposition and improvisation so they can take their creativity and love of music in many directions. My goal is to do more than teachI help students become ;problem solvers and independent learners, as they find their own artistic voices. I ask lots of questions to help students make their own musical decisions and take ownership of their interpretations. Ive taught students ages 3 to 75. The discovery of how music can communicate and connect people is rewarding.

Grip-one of the first things you will learn during drum lessons is how to hold your drumsticks. A proper grip technique is essential to any drummer. So make sure to pay attention to the instructions. Keep reading to find out about the differences between matched and traditional grip.
What to expect in my Guitar Lessons
Depending on the duration of your first lesson, you may learn some of the notes on the strings, or even some basic guitar chords. You can also expect to begin learning about proper fretting, picking, and strumming technique.
What to expect in my Keyboard and Piano Lessons
Beginner: my first piano lesson? After a brief overview of the keyboard, simple rhythms are usually taught. The quarter and half notes generally show up during the first lesson and the first few songs learned will be composed of these rhythms. Another important first lesson skill you will learn will be finger numbers.
