Hi, I’m Jackson. In 6th grade, I started playing the cello in my school orchestra. Throughout that time I started playing the guitar and eventually found the bass upright and bass guitar. I want to help others find what music has brought to my life. If you just want to learn chords to play songs and sing along that’s great! If you want to learn everything you can about music and your instrument that’s great too! And maybe you don’t know what you want. That’s totally okay! Music looks different for everyone. I just want to help you learn and find out what music is to you, and help you become the best musician you can be! At the end of the day, music is human expression. And I just hope music can help you express yourself like it has for me. Some Qualifications I have: Throughout school, I had weekly students who took Guitar and Bass lessons from me. I’ve played at venues around the St. Louis area and at Steifel Theater. I studied composition and chord theory in school and had a private instructor I studied with. And of course, the time I put into practice and learning. I practice for about six hours a day. Whether that is playing, rehearsals, studying, songwriting or even just intently listening to different styles and genres of music! If I seem like a good fit to you I would love to do everything I can to help you through your musical journey!
What to expect in my Guitar Lessons
Lessons on how to use scales and arpeggios to make your playing sound amazing. Lessons on improv and writings licks, riffs, and other ideas!
What to expect in my Record Engineer Produce
Lessons about how equlizares and compressors function. And how to get your recordings, mixes, and masters to sound the best they can!
What to expect in my Bass Guitar Lessons
Lessons about rhythm and how the bass fits in with a band/ensemble. Bass is all about serving the music. And that is something that can completely change depending on the song. I’ll teach technique, chord theory, scales, arpeggios, etc.
What to expect in my Drum Lessons
To learn about rhythms and timing. But most importantly how to serve the music best. A good drummer is often known by the notes they don’t play.
What to expect in my Song Writing Lessons
Learning about chord theory and how notes connect to one another. Learning about dynamics in a song and the different structures. I want to give the student the tools to make something unique and true to them.
